Masahiko Takeda - Clémentine Sandner
"Mitate" _ "Kasei"

This installation is a conversation between Masahiko Takeda and Clémentine Sandner. Masahiko Takeda introduces the precious Nishijin-ori textiles created by his grandparents in his work "Mitate" (apparition), and the traditional techniques they used to make the textiles inspires him the most when he creates his soundscapes. Clémentine Sandner observes kasei that are the transitions of landscapes and seasons in Japanese ancient textiles from a distance and put them into her works.

NUIT BLANCHE KYOTO 2019

Every autumn, Paris stages a one-night festival called Nuit Blanche ("White Night") celebrating contemporary art. Kyoto, a sister city of Paris, holds the companion event "Nuit Blanche Kyoto" in various spots around the city for people to enjoy both Japanese and French modern artworks for free. Enjoy a varied program including performances, exhibitions, and projection mapping on building exteriors during a sleepless night.
